5 Months Old

* Look at my baby boy. Skyler captured this shot of Phoenix sticking out his tongue this morning.

* It was fun being #1 while it lasted. UT lost to Vanderbilt last night so I'm sure they won't hold that spot by next Monday when the newest AP top 25 NCAA poll comes out. I had to turn off at the last 3 minutes. I get so emotionally invested sometimes.

* We got a little snow this morning. The surrounding mountains may get several inches before the day's through. I'm traveling in the morning over those mountains so I hope the highways are clear by then.

Flu Outbreak

There are now a total of 17 schools closed down due to the flu outbreak in our region. What can you do? Go out looking like Michael Jackson?


The flu shot just prevented 40% of the strains out there and I already have respiratory problems so I started wearing gloves when I go out. I keep them in my backpack so when I leave the car to go someplace, I slip on the gloves. I feel kinda weird doing it, but the flu could really lay me out if I got it right now.

I've got the Februarys but my passion for music and sports keep me sane. Those are MY #1 and #2 treats in life. (behind my family and friends, obvs)

Super hype for the UT (2) vs Memphis (1) game at 9:00 pm tonight. It's major buzz in eastern Tennessee and I'm sure the hype is deafening in Knoxville, home of University of Tennesse (at Knoxville) Volunteers. UT has such a great momentum going into tonight's game. It served the NY Giants well.

Memphis is going for a perfect season tonight. Can anybody say Patriots? I thought you could.

Sugar, Robin's dog, has become my Mother's constant companion. Mother felt she looked a little sickly so we took her to the vet today to be checked out.

She's fine. $89.20 fine.

There is nothing wrong with her whatsoever but you can't leave a Vet's office and not be charged anything. They gave us preventative meds in case she might get sick.

Okay. 'Nuff bitchin'. You can't really put a price on peace of mind and Mother is now assured that her baby is in tip-top shape.

I hope you AND your pets are fine and well today.

Super Bowl Sunday

New York Giants playing the New England Patriots at 6:00-ish. Did you know that more people are struck by lightning than play in the Super Bowl?

Do you have a favorite? I'd like to see the Giants win since they're a huge underdog and it would be a big upset if they did beat the unbeaten Patriots. And because Eli Manning's the quarterback. Tennessee loves the Mannings. If you're a betting person, the official bet is to take the Patriots winning by 13 or more.
