Fmylife

FMyLife - My life sucks but I don't give a f***. Your everyday life stories.

This site is worth checking out if only to observe fragile human nature, which has always been a hobby of mine. People post their predicaments and you judge it by clicking on either "I agree, your life is f***ed" or "you deserved that one".

I Should Be Working, but....

...I'm going to visit with friends on the internet today. I've been so busy lately that I keep thinking I should be doing something but no, I don't have anything I just have to do today. Nothing. But I am watching Obama ride on the train from Philadelphia down to DC today and the news programs are covering every moment of it.

So relax, Susan, and go see what the rest of the online gang are doing today.

Anne had me zipping all over the web, as usual. ;) I've favorited 3 websites so far and still clicking!

Julie is smack dab in the midst of summer and knows how to appreciate it. She's off to spend a lovely week at the beach.

Monkey Muck has a nice post on Andrew Wyeth with paintings. Along with the ability to skillfully put paintbrush to canvas, pure genius must also have a much different set of eyes than I'll ever know about.

Was it Mrs Peacock in the Library with the Candlestick? Shirl was moved by an unknown force today in Barnes & Noble.

Karen has recently recovered from a nasty cold. Oh, and did you know that she could take computers apart and fix them?

Brooke continues on her spiritual walk.

Deb's muttering; Mel Tillis is stuttering. And who knew she's sleeping with an IT guy?

Maggie's still in Vancouver, I suppose. She's not updated in a few months now.

Chris was missing in action. Where you be, Chris? I found you. Yum! ;)

Janet has weight loss tips and a strange photo of a found baby and a hat.

Marie continues to document her beautiful countryside which is such a joy.

Kathryn's dear little Claire has been feeling yucky lately and finally had a breakthrough. Thoughts and prayers to them.

Weather What?

Sure is a sloppy rainy day. Wind advisories and tornado watches in the region. I found a neat weather site that has a lot of details on it that you might enjoy. Check it out at weatherbonk.com

Celebrity Collage

http://www.myheritage.com/collage

HYSTERICAL! Go ahead. Try it if you dare!

I've gotten SO many laughs with this fun little website. You take a picture of yourself and the website will tell you what celebrities you look like. Unfortunately, mine came back with male celebrities.

"MyHeritage face recognition technology discovers which celebrities you look like. Now, for free, you can create a collage showing your very own celebrity matches, and post it easily on your blog, or include it in your profile, or email it to your friends."

COLOURlovers

I really got the color fever after finding this new-to-me website called COLOURlovers. The best part is making color palettes and then making up names for any newly discovered colors that aren't registered to the site yet.

There's colors named Fairy Burp and Glowstick, and I've invented a couple of new ones as well. Mad Max is a funky color and there is a palette I named (for some weird reason) Divorce Party. All the colors have the codes if you're shopping around for a specific color.

This one is Cultopia.

Here's my other COLOURlovers.

Food Social Networks

I saw this link about Bake Space at Deb's website today and thought it looked like a good place to keep some of my recipes. I decided to google "food social networks" and found a few other similar type sites. I'm forever getting stuck in a rut and relying on the same old things for dinner.

* Open Source Food - A Social Network for Foodlovers, Recipes, Pics, Tips & More.

* And GroupRecipes is about discovering new foods and people.

All together now: YUMMMMMMMMM!

The Art of Zen Habits

Zen Habits is a good lifehack or web 2.0 weblog about achieving goals and simple productivity through daily habits. They recently addressed the benefits of being an early riser, how to cultivate compassion in your life,

"Now, let me first say that if you are a night owl, and that works for you, I think that’s great. There’s no reason to change, especially if you’re happy with it. But for me, switching from being a night owl to an early riser (and yes, it is possible) has been a godsend. It has helped me in so many ways that I’d never go back. Here are just a few":

1. Greet the day. I love being able to get up, and greet a wonderful new day. I suggest creating a morning ritual that includes saying thanks for your blessings. I’m inspired by the Dalai Lama, who said, "Everyday, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to have woken up, I am alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others, to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings, I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others, I am going to benefit others as much as I can. "

I still want it both ways! I want to stay up late and get up early, too.

The Number You Have Dialed

I was just recalling something I can now look back on and if not laugh at, I certainly find it oddly amusing...

Before Robin passed away (Nov 2005), Mother's telephone had an answering machine message on it with Robin's voice speaking. After she died, it never occurred to Mother or I to change the message or remove it! It was probably 6 months later that we came up from our clouded funk and unplugged the answering machine altogether. Looking back it must have been extra sad for others to call in and hear that message, but I'd like to think that Robin was laughing at me for being such an idiot. =)

(Numbers on this post; numbers on the last post-- Searching for the synchronicity these numbers are leading me to.)
