Mother answered the telephone yesterday and the caller asked her if she had a checkbook. She was startled and answered numbly, "Yes". He then asked her to go get her checkbook.
Mother hung up the phone.
She came and told me about it and I reported it to the phone company. Taking advantage of the elderly is just about as low as it gets.
