This movie looks mesmerizing. You can visit the Golden Compass movie website and meet your very own Daemon. Mine was a freaking osprey. There is even a Golden Compass blog.
The author of the Golden Compass, Philip Pullman has 3 parts of the Dark Materials trilogy of which the Golden Compass book is the first.
