How To Outsmart Your Pet
I forgot where I heard this tip, but would like to pass it along to anyone reading. You know how when you try to open your door and let your dog or cat out or in and [especially cats] they pause and just hang around the door, taking their time. And you want to say, "Are you going out or not?" Here's how to get your pet to quickly come in or go out. When you open the door, start counting, "One", "Two", "Three". On "Three", SHUT THE DOOR. No matter which side of the door your pet is now on. You may want to practice this with them a few times in a row at the door. I promise you'll be amazed at how soon your pet learns to come in before you count to "Three". I've taught about 5 dogs and 2 cats this little trick now. Works every time.
