I've been messing around with Wordpress lately and am going to move Susan*Jayne over there. I've already imported this website info over there but I still need to fix the place up before company comes to visit and before I close up shop here.

The link is here at Susan*Jayne or you will be taken to the site automatically before you finish reading this post.

Later this year I'm going to open up a new website on Wordpress, probably, that will replace my Easy Bake Coven site, AND it will also have a new domain name. So, that's why I'm over at WP getting to know the place.

Updates to come.

I Need Your Help! Anybody!

I'm thinking of selling that Led Zeppelin poster of mine. I had a good offer and I may go through with it. The guy says he'll give me the money first and then I can send the poster. (He's also making me a reprint.)

Here's where you come in. I haven't asked him yet, but what is the best way to get the money from him? Paypal? Or what? I wouldn't want to give out my bank info to someone I don't know. Should I ask for a cashier's check or what?

Thanks, guys.

Here's Grandma!

I looked at myself tonight with a crocheted sweater on and my hair piled on top of my head and glasses on my nose. It's sure as hell evident I'm somebody's grandmother.

Note to self: Put that sweater back in storage. Fast. lol

First Signs of Spring

It won't be long! Hummingbirds are so magical. Here's the North American map of first sightings last year in 2007.

Good Morning!

It's Easter weekend beginning today and my sweet little bunny boy and his Mommy are coming to visit with me for the weekend. So I'm having my coffee and finishing up my grocery list and will head that way soon.

Mother has a bad cold and so far I haven't caught it. Of course, she won't let me do anything for her. Why are Moms sometimes that way? If I was feeling puny and Skyler wanted to make me hot chocolate I'd gladly let her.

Now for the my favorite stuff. Basketball! Tennessee is playing today at noon. We are counting on you, UT. Our brackets are counting on you, too.

Ok, gotta run!

Thursday, March 20, 2008

Georgia is seeded #14 and they're playing #3 Xavier right now. I'm pulling for Georgia and have them wining this game and the next one on my bracket.

Crazy to bet on a 14 seed? Perhaps. But they have such a momentum going lately and that's what wins in the NCAA tourney.

35-26 at the half. Looking good! I see MSU is also leading. *No bracket busters today.

* wishful thinking. My bracket is a mess.

Peek-a-Boo

It's fun to peak while you're working. I decided to log in and work for 3 or 4 hours, but we're not as busy as I thought we were.

I've filled out my basketball bracket and the fun begins Thursday. I can't do any worse than I did last year. UT plays Friday at noonish.

Okay, time to go see what you guys are up to.

Maybe It's Your Charm

You can't see this very well but it's a sterling silver charm with Phoenix's name and date of birth on it. I have charms from my Mother's bracelet and charms from my grandmother's bracelet and now I'm adding my own charms to it. This is my first purchase for the bracelet and it's another great bargain, too.

Things Remembered is where I bought the charm online. It was a good shopping experience and I'd recommend them.

What's For Lupper?

I've mentioned before that my Mother likes to eat dinner early. As in 4:00 early.

I love a bargain. Especially at the grocery store and I bought a 5 lb whole chicken for $1.99. It's baking right now with some rosemary and lemon and a little olive oil.

I remember when chicken was the inexpensive meat at the market.

So whatcha having for your dinner? Or whatever your next meal happens to be. :)

The Cost of Parking

It's a big weekend in East Tennessee. If you are a NASCAR fan you know that the Bristol Motor Speedway is having a big race this Sunday. People from all over the world come and camp out in RV's, stay in hotels, etc, and enjoy tail-gaiting and watching the various races, culminating in the big one on Sunday. But there's been lots of storms in the area and I'm not sure it will affect the racing or not.

I have to say that I am not a race fan, but I do admire the passion the fans have for their sport. That I can relate to. Our house is probably 20 miles from the speedway and we feel the traffic crunch of the visiting fans, but it's good for business.

I only went to one race in my whole life. Since you are my special friends, I'll let you in on an enterprising, but embarrassing, little story.

Myself and two other friends wanted to go to the race to see what it was all about. (This was back in the days that I was drinking). We didn't have enough money to attend the event so we all stood beside the racetrack in a large field with made up a sign that read
"Parking $1.00"
We had probably 30 cars in 30 minutes time. After they paid a dollar each to park, we were able to buy a ticket and watch the race.

It really started out as a joke but the cars kept whipping into the field, so we figured it was our little gift from the karmic gods or whatever we told ourselves.

Physical Graffiti

I had a physical Thursday. It was good.

Because I rarely visit his office he checks everything possible. He recommends everything; he prescribes everything. He's so adorable.

College basketball tourney games are this weekend AND Selection Sunday is almost here. 8)

Someone Made My Day

As I stepped up to the counter and asked for my cigarettes, the clerk uttered that magical phrase, "May I see your ID?".

I hadn't heard THAT in so long I wasn't sure I could even comply, but I fumbled for my driver's license and showed her my date of birth. I tried to maintain without giggling so wildly that it would raise suspicion that I was high on something illegal.

Before getting back into my car I started singing a little Pointer Sisters' "Yes, you can", "Yes you can-can ..." in the parking lot just for drill.

Can You Solve The Mystery of the White Gloves?

Can You Solve The Mystery of the White Gloves?
The mystery of the missing left handed gloves. I ran across these old gloves yesterday in a craft drawer. They are the other halves to 2 pairs of gloves. Obviously. So, what did a seamstress/crafty person do with one of those missing left handed white gloves? Hint: This was in the 1980s.

Answer will be in the comments at a later time. =)
