Good News for me! I start a new job Saturday. It's just a temporary job, but has possibilities, if the workload pans out. I'll be doing what I've done for JCrew & Toys R Us. Running the work flow (the hub) of a call center that takes customer service calls for a large New England bank; answering help lines, staffing according to a matrix, routing appropriate amount of calls to our people here, Providence, and somewhere else. Sounds boring, I know. But it's hectic, and fast paced like a bee hive. Being the new guy on board I'm going to be working 3rd shift. I said I'd take anything! Guess it'll take some time to adjust to those hours. Wish me luck.

Okay, I've been job hunting as you may recall. And the job I've been most interested in seems interested in me, too. I've had two interviews, they've called my references and I went for the drug screen. That was Saturday. Today is Thursday. And the only drugs I've had in a long time is Advil and Pepcid. So, why don't they call me?!! Maybe today. She said it takes 3-5 days to get back the drug screen. Is that business days? Does Pepcid work against you on a drug screen? I know. If it's meant to be, it'll happen. Sigh.....

Can I finally take off my good luck Duke tee shirt? Duke won the ACC championship today which catapulted them to a No# 1 position (along with 3 other teams--given to four teams in four brackets) for the NCAA tourney beginning next week. The fight for best men's college basketball team in the country.
In their bracket, it's:
1 - Duke
2 - Kentucky
3 - Oklahoma
4 - Syracuse
5 - Michgan State University! Shirl's alma mater
6 - Utah - Karen's area team

There's 16 teams in each 4 brackets. These are just the top 6.

Anyway, Yippee! Win or lose, 3 or 4 more weeks of Basketball at it's finest and then it's over with until late fall. sigh...

Just put down a cocktail dress, I suppose you'd call it, after taking up the straps on it for Skyler to wear tonight to a dance. They are out of school tomorrow for a Teacher's Work Day and they're having a Sadie Hawkins Day Dance at school today. If the girl is supposed to ask a boy out, well, you know Skyler had to be different and ask a girl out. The girl is going to wear a tux. But now this boy she's had a crush on is hinting about wanting to go with her and they have gone somewhere to hang out right now. So I wonder who she'll go to the dance with? The drama continues.....

I think I'm beginning to realize what it was like for my Mother and Dad with me for a daughter. I'm sure it was never dull, but wish I hadn't scared them so much.

I've been really job hunting lately and have an interview tonight. Yes, tonight! This place keeps late hours and the lady I need to talk to doesn't come in until 10:00. I think I might want this one. I'll know more after I talk to her.

What else is going on? Oh, Robin had surgery last week on her foot. The bones were rubbing bone and they had to go in and fix it. I'm sure it's extremely painful for her. And my Mother had her 2nd appt this afternoon. I'm waiting to hear from her. We believe she's got colon cancer. Her Mother passed from that. So if you offer prayers to anyone, please offer them up for my Mommy.

I don't get online as much as I used to and so I don't visit my blog friends as much as I'd like to. I visit the same amount of people in a week as I used to visit in a few hours time. I've just been watching tons of basketball, sewing, reading, house cleaning, etc. I just want you to know that if I've not visited you much lately, I still love you lots.

Oh, my goodness. Skyler (my 16 year old daughter), has a Mohawk. She went to a salon after school Wednesday and got herself a righteous Mohawk. With her own money. Did I say she has an afterschool job now? It's maybe 1/16th of an inch of hair on the side and the top is about 3 inches long. Her bangs were blond with blackish brown hair, so it's two-toned. Unless she uses the gel she also bought. One is deep purple and the other is blue and glows in the dark.

Sigh.....she is her Mother's daughter. People stared at me wherever I went, too, because of my wild bushy Robert Plant-like hair and long skirts, boots, tons of jewelry, etc. I was shocked to see it because I didn't know she was going to do it. But it's just hair and it's brave of her and of that I'm proud. I can recall a time when she was younger and she would dress all funky on the weekends and after school and I would ask her why she didn't do that at school. And she said she didn't like to draw attention and stand out. Well, it's safe to say that's no longer a problem. Our little girl is no longer shy.

But her Dad's reaction surprised us both. He was angry with her and told her he didn't like it. He doesn't think it's flattering he said. He grounded her. I was hoping to post a picture she and her friends had taken, but I don't have it yet.

I have a feeling this roller coaster ride is just beginning. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Awwggrrhhhhhh!!! My darn server is down again. Yes, again. I know it was down at midnight last night and still out now. Blogger is up and running more than Your-Site and it's FREE, for pete's sake. (I don't think I've ever said 'pete's sake' before--ya know I keep this website clean; the relatives are watching) Okay, getting a late start today. Let's go read the news, check the email and get some blogging done. kisses...
